Eager as a golden retriever,
funny as a circus band.
Intelligent as an octopus,
sensitive as shifting sands.
Blue-grey eyes of cloudy skies,
Hair of ground-up coffee beans.
Passion of a piano player,
manners of an elder queen.
Shyness of a seaside snail,
nervous as a shaking leaf.
Clever as a fortune teller,
creative as a coral reef.
Alluring as a hidden geode,
stubborn as the winter snow.
Compassionate as a caring friend,
Dramatic as a theater show.
Confidence of a wilted flower,
Elegant as a silver spoon.
Kindness of a teddy bear,
romantic as a shining moon.
In all these traits I wish you’d see,
the admirable woman you are to me.
I see you true for who you are,
my beautiful, bright, and shining star.
